Sign Up for a NextLesson Account

NextLesson offers two ways to sign up for an account: 

• Google
• Email Address (Username/Password)

If you already use Google email addresses in your classroom, these signup methods will enable you to have a single sign-on. You can sign up with your non-Google email address if your classroom does not use Google.  

If you are part of a school license or trial and do not know which method you should use, please consult your administrator.

Google (Teacher)

This method is for schools that use Google for email, Google docs, or Google Classroom. For teachers who use Google Classroom, this does enable you to sync your roster with your existing classes:

1. Go to nextlesson.org
2. Click the orange Sign Up button in the top right corner
3. Select Teacher
4. Click the red Sign up with Google button
5. Enter your school Google email address and click Next
6. Enter your password and click Sign in (note: NextLesson will not receive access to your password)
7. Authorize NextLesson
8. Welcome to NextLesson!

Google (Student)

This method is for schools that use Google for email, Google docs, or Google Classroom with their students. 

1. Go to nextlesson.org
2. Click the orange Sign Up button in the top right corner
3. Select Student
4. Click the red Sign up with Google button
5. Enter your school Google email address and click Next
6. Enter your password and click Sign in (note: NextLesson will not receive access to your password)
7. Authorize NextLesson
8. If this is the first time you have signed in to NextLesson, you will be required to enter a class Join Code provided by your teacher. After entering it, click Complete Google Sign Up
9. That's it!

Email Address

If you do not use Google, use this method to sign up for NextLesson (note: when students sign up, they are not required to have an email address).

1. Click the Sign Up button
2. Select Teacher
3. Click Sign Up with Email
4. Complete the information fields and click Complete Sign Up
5. Welcome to NextLesson

Questions & Answers

Q: What happens when I authorize NextLesson on Google or Edmodo?

A: NextLesson receives the essential information to interact with your classes on that platform and recognize you as a user. We do not get any passwords.

Q: I accidentally signed a student up as a teacher, how do I change it?

A: Email us at support@scholarus.com with the student’s username, and we can correct it.
